Broken down, slept in mud and found many birds, Cameroon 2025
Updating you from the field, Music Across Continents expedition 2025-2026
Hi there
Thank you for reading the Music Across Continents newsletter.
Quickly, we had to move again from another newsletter platform to finally, I believe the one we’ll stick around for longer, Substack. I hope you’ll enjoy the experience here.
I’m currently in Cameroon, and it’s been a wild ride. Flying into Benin to get visas and car papers, clearing Daphne from cockroaches and dead mices, driving 1400 km, doing one of the most difficult off roads of West Africa, getting stuck in mud and sleeping in the car at 45 degs, both front ball bearings gone when reaching the tarmac, and getting attacked on the road, and found the first migratory birds!!!
Quite a few updates, hence why I made a video vlog!
Also, do you know exactly why I called this expedition Music Across Continents? The answer is below, a groovy answer!
Almost done with the work in the field in Cameroon, together with the Cameroon Wildlife Conservation Society. More updates on the birds we found soon!
The next update will come directly from Congo-Brazzaville, the next destination for the expedition.
Keep exploring, wherever you are!
Axel
