Gorillas, Swifts, Emergency return. An unexpected end to Music Across continents.
If I can't go one way, I'll follow the other.
Hello!
It’s been a while…
How many times have I written this? This time, though, I have a serious excuse for the radio silence, one that has been teaching me a lot.
First of all, in the video, I show just what has been happening over the last few months of the Music Across Continents expedition, which has been epic in so many ways.
Gorillas and Common Swifts in Congo-Brazzaville; Sandwich Terns, Elephants, Zebras, Black-backed Jackals, Willow Warbler and, EURASIAN GOLDEN ORIOLE, in Angola. Many, many encounters, difficult to put together in a short video.
Again, these expedition update videos I made were merely to keep you up to date while I’m travelling. I’ve been recording and filming so much that it will take a few years to release the whole thing for sure. Content has been done, the real art is coming!
Something stopped me…
Unfortunately, though, the expedition hasn’t been completed; I had to stop it just a few months away from its completion. I got malaria and dengue together, which forced me to be taken to the hospital and spend two weeks there, risking my life, the worst weeks of it, I must say.
Good thing is that I’m in Trieste now, no permanent damage to my body, but unable to do sports or heavy physical work for the next 5 months, and honestly, my financial situation is not that great. In the next weeks, I’ll get back onto looking for work, refining Axel Wild’s music live performance to be taken out to the world, developing what has been created over the last 4 years during the travels, and developing Sounding Wild into a fully fledged creative studio.
I want to thank my family, my dad for coming back to rescue me, my partner Carlie to take care of my illness from afar and been patient with me during this crazy travels, and my friends from Lobito (Angola): Alfredo, Constantino and Joachim, whom have been close to be and so supportive to work together, and took care of me as if I was part of their close family.
I hope to see you and hear from you, either for a chat or if you’re interested to hear more about my journey.
Axel
